Dr. Kelly brings 40 years of experience from IBM, where he led in semiconductor technology, supercomputers, AI, and quantum computing. Dr. Kelly drove IBM's U.S. patent leadership for 28 years and created a significant intellectual property licensing business. Dr. Kelly played a key role in establishing the $10B Albany semiconductor research center and the $30B GlobalFoundries. As IBM's Executive Vice President from 2019 to 2020, he oversaw global technical and business strategies, including IP, security, partnerships, and acquisitions. Previously, as Senior Vice President, Cognitive Solutions and IBM Research, he expanded Watson's AI applications across various sectors. As Senior Vice President and Director of IBM Research, Dr. Kelly expanded IBM's AI capabilities, leading to Watson's groundbreaking performance on Jeopardy! He retired from IBM in 2020 and is recognized as a Fellow of IEEE and a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
